Air Conditioning › Repair

How Car Air Conditioning works :

CAUTION: Automotive Air Conditioning Systems are under extreme pressure and should only be serviced by a trained professional.

Before opening the Air Conditioning System or removing any Air Conditioning Components you will need to evacuate any freon still in the system.

For Replacement procedures see individual components.

Determine if the reason your air conditioning not working is Electrical or Mechanical.

If the Air Conditioning System is low on Freon, this means there is a leak. Dye can be added to the system through the low side port and cycled in order to help locate the leak. Look for the dye around areas where there are o-rings, hoses, condenser and compressor along with each component of the AC system. Once the leak is found then the repair can be made.
